The latch is a 2 step latch like the doors, you may be too far and only catching the first latch, it should hold the hood tight on the rubber bumpers, that’s where you fine tune the level with the fenders Or you can add some hood pins like the super B’s have, I kinda like the look of them

I agree with R413 , adjust the latch down so it holds the hood tight on the rubber stops or your hood is going to flap around while driving until it works the latch loose and folds over your windshield
