Oh, so these numbers/letters are in the VIN and stamped around the car. Radiator support, transmission case, block, I think the trunk deck too.

Oh, nice. Thanks for the info on the M and S. M = chassis size or engine size? S = 440 motor? P-38 twin boom. My dad was stationed in Santa Maria during the war and it was a training base for P-38's. When he showed me a pic of the plane i was hooked. Would not have wanted to be in front of one...
