    1970 Hood Indicator Restoration

My experience for the 70RRs & GTXs was that there was (3) different hoods available. My 70 RR and others I have seen had the cast hood insert with the indicators spaces plugged. To install the turn indicators, one just punched the plugs out. Today there a couple suppliers of the repro...

    Clutch Fork Replacement.

No idea about part #?? For my 70RR it had the wrong Z-bar that pushed the rod in a sideways direction rather than straight back breaking the mounting stem on the bell housing. Fortunately a local Mopar guru showed me (3) Z-bars all the same width but the mounting tab that pushed the rod were in...

    Clutch Fork Replacement.

Double check the Z-Bar... Mopar had multiple versions that were the same width but the tab that pushes the rod to the fork was positioned differently. The rod should be parallel to the bell housing to provide straight and proper leverage of the fork... Just my $0.02..

fuel gauge not reading gas at all

On our legacy Mopars (55-75) if one has a fuel guage, water temp and oil pressure guages they have a voltage limiter. The voltage limiter takes the 12VDC and outputs 5VDC. Note all of the mentioned guages are actually a 5VDC guage, and each respective, sensor is a variable resistor adjusting...

    Ten Rules for Maximum Cooling

Hmmm. Often overheating issues are the result of: a. Lean fuel mixture b. Incorrect timing For our legacy Mopars... Note that I am not a supporter for electric fans, as adding these require wiring and charging system upgrades due to the increased amperage of the electric fans. A couple of...

    Fuel Pump Slowly Dies

Replacement pumps from CarQuest, Auto-Zone, O'Reily are junko. Parts built off-shore in China use low grade parts, and have poor reliability. Better to spend the $$ and buy a better quality pump. As pappy always said.. U can pay me now or pay me later!! Just my $0.02..

    Starter relay rebuild

My personal experience with these older Mopar OE electrical parts such as relays, solenoids and switches.. They can be rebuilt by taking them apart, burnishing the contacts for relays, coat with dia-lectric grease for connectors and internal switch contacts and lubricate if required. It seems...
