I am sure by now, everyone on this board has heard about the tragedy in Japan. If not, there is a link below with some information and pictures.

I spent a total of 12 years of my life in Japan. It is a wonderful country with great people. Many of my friends still live there, mostly in Aomori. I have gotten in tough with all but three of them. If there is anyway that you can help these people out please do so, even if it is only to pray for them.

I know you can text JAPAN to 80888 to donate $10 to the relief efforts if you are so inclined. If you want to donate more you just repeat the text. For instance I donated $150 so I just texted 15 times. Ill do more on payday.

If you are of the religious type please keep all these people in your prayers.

Im in i will send money to the red cross for Japan

Could I say no being a Christian.. its a tragedy that will get worse each day.

This is going to be as big as tragedies come, in the 21st century anyway.

Makes all the lesser events pale into insignificance and a lot of people should realise that thier own hardship is nothing compared with whats happening in Japan!

They are a resilient people and will bounce back, I just hope they are better prepared for next time.

Thats why it is so tragic! Japan is probably the MOST prepared for earthquakes and tsunamis, houses and buildings are built on rollers and many home structures are steel and not wood like here. There are tsunami barriers out at sea to help break up waves and slow them down. They do constant drills and have sirens and such.

For a country that is prepared almost daily for this event, all construction is done with earthquakes and such in mind to have this much destruction makes it even worse. I do not believe there is a country that is more prepared for this disaster than Japan was.

It just shows, that no matter how prepared you are, mother nature can overcome.

My better half donated 10 bucks to the red cross for japan.

I have been fortunate enough to have travelled many times to Japan. They are the most gracious people. My heart goes out to them in this terrible time. I will do all I can, I have many friends over there...

Quite a different people. Very civilized and respectful. They stick together and work towards a common goal, rather than sit on their asses and wait for others to do it for them, like we have seen in other countries.

Thanks for the link, been a bit busy to watch the news. The scale of it is hard to grasp.
