Hey guys, I have a 1973 Plymouth Roadrunner, 400cid 6.6L.

All original, but I want to replace the exhaust manifolds with headers and do a full switch on the exhaust itself.

Would these headers:

and;

any of these pipes:
http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS-Performa...Dual-Exhaust-Kit-w-o-Mufflers/751648/10002/-1

Be a good match? Or can you direct me here, I haven't touched anything with headers, also I don't have a fortune to spend on a new exhaust, but I need it.

Also, yes I know one set or two are side exits, which I don't mind.

the summit set won't fit your engine
the jegs ones are really crappie. anything with flex tube is not good

99.9% Sure that the Summit set will fit.
..especially when you check which applications it fits.

6.6L/400CI.

And I'm not too concerned about the "Crappy'ness" of the system, It's not a show car, FAR from it, it's just a driver once and a while.

Back to the real question: Will those headers and any of those systems match up?

if your 99.9% sure it will fit then what more are you wanting?

Hedman 78030 are the best fitting headers for a b-body. Pay the extra bucks for ceramic coating...It's worth it

Tti

I'd suggest TTI if you can afford them. Bolt right up. Get ceramic coated.

I wouldn't suggest the Hedman elite header 78038. They don't fit worth a dam. I won't make that mistake again. Not sure about the 78030.

I guy I know tried ceramic coated Hookers in a 73 RR. Wouldn't work with a 400 or a 440. 400 hit linkage, 440 hit trans. He beat the hell out of them trying to make them fit, now they are unused but almost worthless. :(

TTI are the best fitting and are well made. I run them on my '63 NSS Maxwedge. Worth the money...I have had 2 sets of 78030 Hedman and had no problems..big block 4 speed application. Hookers earned their name..Worst fitting made in Mexico. I had a set of competeiton 2'' hookers on my 440 Challenger and had another set on my '63. Fit was not even close.

Summit headers are private label headmans. I've used about 8 sets of them on small and big block B body cars from 68 to 74 and never had a problem with them.
