How do you remove the dash pad?

This is Mopar Fan Dan and I approve this post.:jerk: I am back on my real screen name. So does anybody know how to remove the top dash pad on a 68 coronet with the standard dash. I have the dash apart and I do not see any screws holding it in place but it won't budge. Is it clipped on and I just need to yank really hard?
 
There are six or seven 3/8" ( I think ) speed nuts on the back side of the pad. I use a 1/4" drive with a flexable extension to get into the crevise where they are located. You will probably want to remove the glove box and radio to get easier access.
 
Don't yank real hard until you remove the 6 nuts that hold it on from the back. They are a pain in the arss to get to and are virtually invisible. One on either side of the indentation for the heater controls and one on either end, maybe 2" from the end and then midway between those two. Somewhere on this forum we have talked about this and included some pics of the pad removed so the locations could be seen. You'll likely need a series of extensions and a universal adapter in there somewhere too.
 
Thanks everybody. I got it out. Fortunately only 3 of the studs had nuts on them. Putting it back is going to be fun.:headbang:
 
I'd take the socket and magnetize it first before trying to get those back on there, just in case the speed nut falls off. Also, mark the locations of the studs so you know roughly where to find em once the pad is on.

I'm getting ready to swap out the dash pad on a 1977 Cordoba. I hope it isn't as hard as the one just described. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks.
