I am changing the motor in my '67 Coronet from a 318 to 440. I know I have to change the motor mounts, but do I need to do any work to the K member? Thanks, Mike

Sorry Mark, K frames are engine specific. there are /6, SB, BB and HEMI K frames for each car out there, except where "That" engine option was available.

SB and BB V-8 are the same frame for B's til 73. Same part # for each year. 440HP's had the skid plate other wise same frame. /6 and Hemi are different of course.
I have a stack of around 20 K-frames. Can't tell which are from a SB and which are from a BB

Moparmarks, what happend AFTER 73... do they become La, B, RB, 6 specific ?

Yep just like the E. 64-72B 70-74E all have a V-8 frames. I'm still researching 62/3 B but think the same holds true there also.
73-79B has a different BB than SB frame. Motors sits further back, I think, on a BB. Also the upper controll arms and shock towers are part of the K-frame assy, not the Uni-body assy.
70B is a one year and B-body only frame
A-body has different frames for SB and BB
/6 and Hemi always had their own frames
