I am looking for the owner of the 440+6/4 speed Charger I sold in North Jersey somtime around '91 or '92. The pictures show the car when I sold it and a few years later, after the new owner restored it. I am hoping you, or one of your Mopar buddies are on one of the forums. I lost your contact information years ago and was looking to reconnect.

Yes, thanks. It really was one of the nicest Mopars I had ever seen. So many of these cars have interesting stories. This car was saved from rotting away in a back yard.

I was on my way home from the Shore and was stopping Magnifico's Ice Cream in East Brunswick, NJ but made a wrong turn into a neighborhood. Under a tarp in a backyard, I saw what I thought to be the back end shape of a Charger. While having my Ice Cream, I was thinking, "that could be some really cool Mopar under that tarp". I eventually went back and investigated. The homeowner's brother left the car there nearly 15 years earlier. By now I could see enough to know it was a Charger but still not sure of the year or if it was something special. After pulling back the tarp, I saw the R/T door scoops, then the V Code on the dash, then that it was a 4 Speed and then under the car to see the Dana!!! It turned out to be the find of my Mopar life. With 54k miles, hardly any rust and original paint, it had a 413 under the hood and the original 440 engine was in the shed. The guy told me his brother was the original owner and bought the car after getting out of the service and raced it at Englishtown but lost interest in the car and had moved away. He said he would check with his brother and I left hopeful.

I bought it for under 1000. It sat in my driveway for another year or so, I cleaned it up and put an extra set of wheels on it and sold it for less than 3000. I was scraping money together for a down payment on a house so I was selling off toys. I had a few other Mopars at the time including a 69 Roadrunner and a 69 340 Barracuda. The Barracuda was worth the least and smallest so thats all I kept.

The person who bought it lived in North Jersey and had it restored somewhere in the Midwest. I think he said it was Missouri or Kansas. He had a collection of mostly 70 and 71 B and E bodies, all premium performance cars. He was a really good guy too and invited me out to see them but I lost the contact information years ago. So again, if anyone knows this car, I am interested. Thanks, Dave

Beautiful car with an incredible story.

I know this is a 13 year old post but did the seeker ever locate the car?

Who cares. He should get an alert to his email.

That's a sweet Charger R/T V code car! They built 349 4 speed V code Charger R/Ts and and 337 automatic v code Charger R/t's. My car is one of the automatic cars. I converted it to a 18 spline 4 speed and a 3.54 Dana 60 rear axle, because even though I had the matching numbers engine, the matching numbers transmission was long gone.

don't have that feature turned on.
I am sure it defaults to be ON....so to have it OFF means you turned it off.

Not many people can even send a Private Message correctly, so the chances of someone navigating the User Profiles page is even less likely.

I did turn mine off. I'm here all the time anyway, I don't need an email reminder.:)
