Those that have a 66 or 67 street Hemi car, I am looking for some information. What is the assembly date of the motor on the pad, vs the production date of the car? Larry Shepard told me that they were all over the place with no set rules. It was not unusual to see a spread of months.

Have you ever spoken with or had an email answered by Galen Govier? It took me six months of constant calling just to get a fender tag decoded, and it was always with his secretary. Anyway he does not do that anymore.
I have to respectfully disagree with you. I have spoken with Chrysler people that worked in R and D as well as other Hemi hobbyists. That two month only production in 1966 for all of 66 and 67 is not correct. That would mean my June 67 car would have a motor assembled at least 7 months before and possibly much longer. The link above does not say anything about a two month productio in 1966 nor which months. My car is separated by 4 months which Larry Shepard says was very ofyen the case. That makes my pad stamp of 2-14 a 1967 date.

I was told that that blocks were cast, and were then assembled when cars were ordered. so blocks could have sat for a while. they then cast more when supply was getting low! this is why there are early cast blocks in a later cars. the assy date is the number to look at!

That is correct. They cast Hemis in 1966 and none in 1967 beginning again in Jan. of 1968. Shepard gave you correct info.

"That would mean my June 67 car would have a motor assembled at least 7 months before and possibly much longer." That is very likely as your car could only have an engine cast in 1966.

Agree I should have qualified that remark to say they batched the blocks in 66. I read this some time ago and it was a casting batch.
