Hey gang

Having a motor built by a sponsor. The water pump housing will have the outlet on the drivers side, instead of the passenger side.

Here are my questions. Who do you recommend on getting a aluminum radiator and what hoses will work? Will the hoses have to be a trial and error thing? The radiator will have to be a 26" inch because my car has A/C. Also, the thermostat can have a swivel on it to go to either passenger or drivers side.

Thanks in advance.

Why not just change the water pump housing to match your current radiator?

I cant remember what the builder said but thats the way the pump will mount on the motor

Hmmm, I'm not certain why it would make a difference (???) is this a big block or small block?
Talk to your engine guy again, because on a big block the pump doesn't go on the motor, it goes on the wp housing.

But ill ASSUME this is a small block (?)
basically, the only way your going to get pre-made, pre-routed hoses, is if you go with a stock set-up, if you go with an aftermarket set-up, you'll need to get universal flex hoses
(measure from point A to point B, (A being rad and B being t-stat. housing for example)
making sure to add extra length" to clear obstacles)
Another option and its going to require a LOT of research on your part, is to find another Chrysler vehicle with the same motor set-up, that's running the same rad outlet/inlet as your rad, THEN go to a parts store and buy the rad hoses for THAT vehicle (instead of your car).

I'm not sure what the stock set up is for a 400 as far as the outlets for the hoses coming off the engine. It is a stroked 400 by Mike from MRL engines. Mike is a sponsor here. I can't remember why he said from the pump but the outlet from it will be in the drivers side. He said that frim the thermostat, I can use a swivel and go either side. I know some of the members here has had Mike build them a motor. I'm wondering what they did and used for the lower radiator hose and what type of radiator. My car came with A/C but converting to a Sanden compressor. That will be the only difference/obstacle, if any.

I feel like a fool. Having a brain fart, I realize its in the stock location. Sorry guys.

Now my question now is this: will you go with an aluminum radiator or stay with the stock recored one? My main concern is to keep the engine running cool with the HP and A/C.

Thoughts?

Thanks
