I was following the Mopar Action Tech article on front brake disc conversion for a '71 Charger, I started acquiring parts.
I bought some nice original A body knuckles/spindles (P/N 3402628 and 29), splash shields, and bearings. Easy enough and spent $200.

Now, I need the rotors, calipers, caliper brackets, grease caps, pins, bolts, and hardware.

Where exactly do I find and buy the rest of these parts, or would it be best to resell what I have and buy a whole kit from Performance Online, Jegs, Classic Auto, etc...??

FYI, I tried to buy the rest from Performance Online, spoke to a helpful and nice gentleman there who started asking me questions about my spindles (4 or 4.5???). We got into a discussion about piece-mealing parts or getting a set paired together.

Looking for advice (new kit for $300-500+, or keep finding parts (and where)??

Everything except for the caliper adapters can be sourced from your local parts store. The caliper adapters should be taken from the donor A body. The parts you need will be ordered as the year of the A body donor car. You can get new rotors, calipers, brakes, hardware kits, etc.. all day long. The only old parts you need are the spindles, caliper adapter, and splash shields.

ps.. put in NEW wheel bearings, and not the ones you got from the donor car.

X2 what 69Bee said. You've already sourced the hardest to find parts. You're in a good place right now because you're able to control the quality of remaining parts to complete your swap, instead of relying upon the kit manufacturer. Rock Auto is a great place to source brake parts. The cotter pins and bolts can be bought at your local hardware store - Harbor Freight sells a cotter pin kit that has every imaginable size. Don't forget new flex hoses.

And while you're at it take a look at your suspension; this is the time to replace worn parts.

And btw, you want the 4.5" BBP, much greater availability of rim choices.

Thanks and thanks, and that is why I asked here!!!! Found out the spindles and splash shields are from a '74 Duster and I'm now getting the caliper brackets too!

Get ahold of DrDiff, aka Cass. He has reproduction caliper adapters (slider type) in the 10.87 or 11.75 size, also has rotors, brgs., well. everything you will need. You could source the rotors on ebay probably cheaper than his price, but still worth a look.

afaik
you can't buy new rotors that will match up with those caliper brackets!
its time to make some choices
the rotors avalible new are 2 sizes 10.87 or 11.75
which one you want
will depend on what rim size you are using...
14' rim =10.87
15' rim =11.75
so you need to be looking for either 11.75 or 10.87 caliper brackets
depending on which one you need to fit your rim.

then you have 2 kinds of caliper brackets
and 2 different kinds of calipers to match the bracket.
pin or slider
buy the correct pin or slider caliper
to match up the kind of caliper bracket you get.
either will work.
the only used part you need to source out is the caliper bracket.
then you choose what caliper to get to match it.
the rest can be bought at rock auto or a parts store
just look up a 78 cordoba

The 78' Cordoba used slider style calipers and adapters and also were 11.75 rotors, so be careful as to what ya get depending on your rim size.
