Oklahoma is one state that allows the use/display of antique plates on motor vehicles. I just bought a mint 1969 Oklahoma license plate for my Coronet for $15.

I stumbled onto this list of places that sell license plates, some international plates, and wanted to share.

The ebay link will take you to a page with links on the left side of the page to the region or state you're looking for.

I ran into a guy at the moultrie swap meet who restores them his work is fantastic. He also has restored ones in stock from different states. I'll find his card and post his name and number tomorrow.

Dennis,

Are you running an antique plate?

I just ran your tag and your car is stolen. :)

Remember when you could tell the state the tag was from by the colors? I miss those days. Our tags used to have a slogan, "Oklahoma is OK". I wonder what genious came up with that? Surely they had a choice of OK, Great or Excellent. Nope, just OK. Don't want to set people's expectations too high. It's not California, afterall. :)

They probably got it from the musical "Oklahoma".

I've found quite a few at resale shops around here. My wife likes going in those places, and now I have something to look for. I found a couple of pristine '63 WI plates with '64 stickers (there were no plates stamped for '64 in WI). It's been fun looking at those places - saw some other neat stuff, too. And there are always a lot at the Iola Old Car Show/Swap Meet in July. One guy has a big tent full of old plates - must be thousands of them.
