I thought I would share the front and rear dollies that I built from stuff laying around the shop, some E-bay casters and couple hours of fab work.

The front is a beat up k-member that I had cut the motor mount off of with 3' of 3" square tubing and a a pair of 6" garage sale swivel casters. I notched the bottom of the k-member for the square tube to sit in. It just bolts into the stock location.

The is a couple of old front spring hangers with 10" of 3" square tube and $25 worth of E-bay casters. They bolt into the stock hanger location.

I have been using the front dollie for quite a few years and recently built the rears. I just pulled them off my GTX, sorry I didn't get pictures with them installed. My total investment was about $40. Hope this was useful.

Smoking hot idea!!!

That's funny because I just built some rear dolly wheels using the exact same construction method as you. And all from stuff lying around my shop. Good idea on the K member.

I really like that idea using the K Member

cool! I'd love to see a picture of a car on the dollies.

Here are a few showing my set in use on several different cars They bolt right in place of the front spring hanger. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

I'm not trying to hijack your thread but I did something a little different on the front to replace the K frame and front suspension. This idea came from a good friend who owns / operates a local Mopar restoration shop. The K frame is replaced by a piece of channel steel with a screw type jack mounted to it. This allows you to raise or lower the front of the car to suit your needs at the time.

The front wheel pivots and allows you to maneuver the car as it rolls.

Hope this helps.
