What's an "eyebrow" anyway?

I read on another forum about fabricating an "eyebrow" (think it was for a '71 Road Runner). I can't figure out what that is grill, front bumper, plastic twin spoilers, front valance, what else is there?

I believe it's the one piece bumper that surrounds the headlights and grill.

What immediately comes to mind are the body lines above the wheel openings.

Think '69 GTO.

I've always seen "eyebrows" as this section of metal

I know on the mid-50s cars that is the fender sheet metal area (pocket) above the headlight. It was prone to rust through.

No... attached to the front valance are chin sploiers. The eyebrow they are referring to is basically a ridge that runs across the top of the bumper above the headlights. This "eyebrow" only comes on cars with factory painted bumpers.

That's what I have been able to dig up also....learned something new.

it is a applique that mounts along the top of the front bumper
on only a 1971 road runner/gtx and even on some satellites of that year
it only came with the painted bumper option.
there is a guy in texas that just found a blue 71 satellite
with that bumper applique on it. pretty rare car.
i think he is a member here.

The "eyebrow" can be seen on this 71 RR - They bolt through the top of the bumper, covering the gap between the bumper and the top, sides of fenders and upper center valance panel.

I have seen these on GTX's, RR's, Satellite Sebring Plus', and Satellite Sebring's. I do not think they were available on the 72 model but I can't say for sure.

There was a guy who was reproducing these and other rare pieces but I heard he may have quit doing them. Gean at Alhambra Custom Services.
