I was just out in the garage to check the climate control and dehumidifier when I noticed that the passenger door is a bit hard to open which I haven't noticed before.

It's like you have to lift the door upwards when you push the button from the outside to close it so the striker clears the pin. Very weird that it became like this from sitting for two weeks?

Anyway - how to adjust it? Hinges or just adjust the striker? When shut the door is perfectly aligned to the panels.

I would adjust it at the hinge. The reason the door lines up after closing is that the jamb latch helps the door ride up when closing. open the door just a little and see how bad the alignment is off. Adjust accordingly. Also , depending upon the condition of your hinges, they may need to be rebuilt.

The first thing to check is the slop in the hinges. Open the door about 8 inches and then lift it up and down. A worn out hinge will allow the door to move up and down quite a bit (plus or minus a quarter inch). A good hinge you should be seening virtually no movemement...maybe a 1/8" total.

If you have little play and your door isn't aligned, then the hinges need adjusted. Chances are you have a worn out hinge and need to rebuild it. Search around here and you will find several threads on rebuilding door hinges.

Alright, thanks - I'll check it next time I'm in the garage. Another thing to add to the "to do" list lol.
