Best way to remove emblem

What's the best way to remove this emblem? The chrome one, not the bird. I'd like to put on the black stripe instead of this. Any help is appreciated.

Look inside the trunk lid, there should be four speed nuts holding the emblem on. I've never messed with a '70, but my '69 has the nuts. Later years had glue on emblems.

If they are glued on, you can saw through the backing with a strip of dental floss.

if they're held on with adhesive, you can spray a little wd40 or pb blaster on the top and let it sit for a while, then proceed with Photon440's method.

I'm fairly sure it's glued on. There are no holes inside the trunk lid. I'l give the dental floss thing a shot.

Here in sweden we have a thing called Chu-Sol (http://shop.bollnasbilvard.se/bilvard/utvandigt/dekalborttagning/concept-chu-sol-450ml) which eats away the glue holding the emblem and makes it really easy to remove. Just spray on the side, let it sit. Bend a little bit. Spray again and keep going until it falls of. I've been using it for many years. I'm sure you have something similar in the US

Fishing line behind the emblem then as stated above, wd 40 it and all the rest will wipe off

goof off liquid works good. it works like wd40 and it don't hurt the paint it's made to remove adhesive.

Bone tool and a (low heat!) heat gun. Silicone polish remover to clean up any remaining adhesive.
