I have a 66 Belevedere with 440.

The head stamp says the following:

F440
C (upside down)
10 16 2

I have done a search and presume this means it's a 1970 engine?

Standard compression/350bhp??

It has a AFB competition 4 barrel carb on it.

Yes, F denotes a '70 engine and if that is a C stamped on the pad, my book shows that to be special crankshaft and Pistons but I don't know what means. Is there a vin stamped on the passenger side on the machined pad above the oil pan rail?

With no HP stamp on the pad, that pretty much tells us it came out of a C body.
As Matt said, look for the VIN on the passenger's side of the block.

I have a 70 350 horse 440 that came from a C body car and the stock pistons are .050 down in the hole. With an open chamber head that CC's at 90, compression is 9.4 using a factory steel gasket and with a closed chamber head at 80 CC's, CR is 10.3 using the same gasket.

Thanks, Just checked this: OC149739

0= 1970 model year car
C=Jefferson plant. They build Chryslers and Imperials

so it's out of a 70 Chrysler or Imperial.
No HP stamp = 350 horse engine originally.

Now, especially if it has/will be rebuilt, that doesn't matter.
