i had some serious rocker geometry problems with edelbrock heads. i don't think any aftermarket part anymore is a simple bolt on, and i'm not sure that simply bolting on alum heads is always the best bang for the buck. just depends.
I agree with Lewtot184 as you will want to check the pushrod lenth and have a set made of the proper lenth. I use Indy EZ heads and everything is in basically the stock location but I knew I needed longer pushrods. I have an adjustable pushrod for checking the lenth. Some heads may come close to stock lenth but you will want to put the cam on the base circle and adjust the rockers to have about two threads showing underneath. Once you get the adjustable pushrod set to the right lenth then you have to measure it and call a company to make you a set. Myself I used "Manton" to make my pushrods and they did a great job. Also make sure you use a good rocker that sets the tip in the center of the valve. Ron
Call INDY CYLINDER HEAD and tell them the motor and cam (specs) that you have and tell them you want their SEZ "kit" which includes assembled heads, pushrods, Valley Cover, Head Gasket and Manley Head Bolts. Tell them if you have adjustable rocker arms or not. The springs that come with the kit are only good for max .600 lift cam and probably hydraulic lifters to be safe. If you have a solid lifter cam absolutely purchase an upgraded spring with the kit. Then, have a MOPAR shop do the installation (not a shop that has just worked on chevys and fords). The pushrods that come with the kit have NOT been sized for your installation and have to be cut down to correct height and then the tips pressed into the pushrod after it has been cut to size. Buy from INDY at the same time a pushrod sizing tool (it is about $15). The shop will use it to size the length of your pushrods. They may have, ask them first. If they are a MOPAR shop they will have the correct one. If they dont work on MOPARS they wont have the right one.
Also need new head bolts. The way the heads are machined for the head bolts, you won't be able to get a socket on the stock bolt head, so they sell bolts that have a smaller hex and you just use a smaller socket.
