The front license plate bracket size/style/location on 1971-1972 Plymouth Road Runners, GTXs, and Satellites always seemed to me to clash with the slick lines of the rest of the vehicle. Has anyone considered or dreamed up an alternative location? I seem to remember some cars back in the day that had the license plates fixed on one side or the other (Ford?), not smack dab in the center of the grille area (which should be clear for air flow as far as I'm concerned).

Garbage can or shelf in garage.

X2 just remove, when I was driving my 72 on the road here in Cali never had a problem, and it looks better without one in the front.

I face the same problem as Alaska mandates plates front and back. Marrs the lines of the car and thinking about "leaving it off" and taking my chances with the police. Would probably be just an added citation when I get pulled over for speeding or breaking traction anyway, I can't see them nailing me for just THAT.

Remove the bracket and affix it straight onto the lower grille.

Hides it away, and you can argue that "it's in the stock location, officer!"

You might check into collector plates. In Wash. they only require rear plates for Collector Vehicles but require front and rear for standard issue plates.

You might want to look into a hidden plate that is mounted under the car. Flip down (hidden) when not in use. Flip it up when you want to be compliant. I installed one and it works great. They are on ebay for around $60.

If you can find the pictures of Petty's 72 RR it had a front spoiler right under the lower air duct that is were I plan on putting ours or move to a state that does not require a front plate.
