1963 Dodge 440 / 2008 Dodge VIper custom build. The VIper Bee

Got 2 quotes for the rear wheel mod. 15X14

$255 and $50 powdercoat each and $308 including powdercoating each, but local to me.

#2 wins.........

Very cool project! That thing will be a blast to drive..... I've got a Viper tranny in my Charger and just that alone is a blast. I'm on board for this one.

I lifted with a strap b/c it is less likely to damage something than a chain.............b/c I do not have the lifting brackets.

Yeap, T56.

The T6060 from 08 up has TWO clutch plates........kinda motorcycle like.

Manifold outlet as big as the starter.................but gone now.

The Viper manifold is a header despite the look. Inside of the heat shield are individual pipes.

Some stuff in here we do not need..........was interesting seeing how the Viper is engineered.

I found what I expected in a modernMOPAR............some "that's really cool" right next to "what the hell is this all about?"

Keep it as much as a "sleeper" as you can. You'll get some wild reactions from people for sure!

V10 sound and 18inch wide tires make it tough .............

Then again.
I do plan to make it pretty quiet.........maybe some electric cutouts..........and I may use lots of back spacing like the Viper so it does not at first appear to be such wide tires.

That was interesting.

Some advice: If you cut aluminum with a cutting wheel then do remember the dust is flammable..............remember the Hindenburg.......

Titanium and Magnesium burns good too. Especially shavings off a mill or lathe!

You're having too much fun!

Guy was going to put the Viper motor in a Challenger, but when he heard of the Hellcat he decided to sell everything. Now.....no Hellcats - DOH!

He sold the Challenger to a Canadian and I bought the Viper.......then a month later these pipes from him.

Of course all this did not happen in the last few days. I went at it a couple months and stopped a couple months.......so this is about where we are now.

I've been considering electric cut-outs for mine. For what it's worth I'd go with Doug's over QTP or the rest, they're the only one that uses a knife edge guillotine for the slider as opposed to a butterfly. Less chance of failing or blow by. Although some (Dennis H) will tell you he loves his QTP's but I've read WAY too many negative reviews of early failure.

Just my opinion too but I'm liking that Viper Blue over the yellow. But if you go yellow I think it could be less overpowering based on your wheel choice.

This is going to be a very cool ride!
