Hello, I am replacing the upper control arms on my 69 roadrunner. I was able to remove the front bolt on the drivers side but not the rear. It is moving so it's not rusted but it doesn't want to come out. Is there a trick I need to know? Can anyone help? Thanks.

Bolt is rusted to inner bushing sleeve, get a bigger hammer.

I've got exactly the same problem at the moment on both sides of my '66 Satellite. You can't get enough swing with a big hammer, I've tried chiselling the washer off the end of the bolt, using a 2m long pry bar, soaking in release oil, so far nothing. Mine is moving too, but I think it's moving in one piece, with the rusted cam washer attached. Heat is my next option, otherwise I'm going to leave it on as it gets removed when the whole shock mount gets cut out and replaced. Good luck, keep trying.

That is why I grease the tube in the bushing and the bolt every time upper arm bushings are replaced.

Torch the bolt head and threaded end off and go from there.

Well I couldn't get mine off, even with a blowtorch. I ended up cutting the arms off with an angle grinder, lucky(?) for me I have to replace the shock tower supports so they get cut out anyway. If the uca mounts were otherwise intact it would be a nightmare to remove these without damaging the surrounding areas. Good luck with your Roadrunner Draser, when you do get the bolt out check the uca mount and frame rail for rust, it can spread from the rusted cam washers. Cheers.
