I have started a new project. 70 Charger R/T desk 4 my office.

Have a couple Edsel noses here i was thinking about making wall/mantle pieces with. Got Poncho noses too,,, & a couple 58 T Bird rear panels.

I was at house in Jamestown, RI looking at a 67 camaro for a friend of mine about 15 years ago, the gentleman worked for Bose radios, had a toy box with 9-10 classic cars in it and ever wall covered in car art, the coolest piece was a wrecked earnhardt race car hanging upside down from the ceiling, he said all hollowed out and glued together with the rigging it weighed in at under 1200 lbs, he had about 5 rear and front clips and he said he used to have a vw bus that had the side hollowed out and had a little kitchen inside it, but he sold it because it took up too much room and he didn't need a kitchen in the garage. Walking out thinking some people have too much money, but then again he knew how to spend it-- in his garage.

I have new pictures, but I have not been able to post them on here. They are saying that they are too large to post. I have posted them on my thread in the general section on Moparts if anyone wants to see them. I will ask my son if he can resize them for me.

I'm not having much luck posting the photos without it reprinting all the quotes, sorry. I got the clip fitted to the desk, and made the closeout panels for the open end of the clip. I fitted the rear bumper and exhaust tips too. I welded the lower valence corners, and the areas where the fins were. Then the body work began. After stripping off the paint and repairing rust and dents, then the blocking began. I am currently still blocking the clip, after two rounds of high build primer and glazing putty. I hope to get it in paint within the next week. I also fabed up the Hurst hot seat, with a 70 B body pistol grip shifter. I fabricated linkage so that it actually works to raise and lower the chair. It's not just a shifter stuck on a chair. The rear finish panel received a driver quality restoration. Just a Scotch bright and some fine line tape and a respray in satin black and it looks presentable. Thats where the project is at to date.

Well I went to the paint supply store, and as we know, the EPA is trying to phase out solvent based paints. Acrylic enamels are becoming a thing of the past. The guy said he couldn't mix the orange paint without ordering the specific chemicals needed for that color. He said that they don't stock too much of them anymore, as water based paints, and basecoat clearcoat, have taken over the market. I had to pick another color, so I went with Sublime green, and it will have a black tailstripe. I suppose that I could have gone with base clear, butI don't rreally want to spend $500.00 on paint for a desk. I went with the single stage enamel for $98.00.
