God-Speed Boo....

Well. Not sure what this means, but to each his own I guess. Maybe some therapy needed here.
Guess i need therapy too because i understand perfectly where He's coming from. Animal Love is unconditional......unfortunately not so in Human interaction. And the Human is the recipient of All the Dog's Love & Loyalty, His undivided dedication,,, while the Dog has to wait for the moments His Person doles out Their Love & attention in doses.

Very sorry! Bad day for sure! Many know that feeling and no matter how many times, it still sucks! I'm gonna be there again soon with mine!

I live in the country I have 4 dogs that came to me, dogs that were unwanted. Each one is different 3 are young 1 is about 14. Each one is my best friend along with the horses, donkeys and..... Losing any of them is a sad day RIP BOO

I want to thank all of you for the warm regards. When it comes to our fuzzy-kids, I know it's heart-felt. Again....Thank you.

I'm also sorry for your loss of your fuzzy buddy. It breaks my heart every time I've had to go through this. I understand your pain. BOO looked like a fine dog. And thank you to those that have adopted a shelter/stray dog. I think if we don't open ourselves to another pet, they are very likely to be put down, depriving us of time spent with the best of friends, and them of the life they deserve. Plus, it helps us heal.

Mike, we have , as you may know, 51 animals on Leaping Donkey Farm. Every one of them are rescue animals, except for chicks and ducklings born here. I know what you mean when you say it's hard to see them go. I think it's hard on the dogs and cats and the Donkeys too because they are intelligent enough to miss them. We have had, in the 15 years we have been married, two dogs and three cats, one turkey, one sheep, 6 ducks, and several chickens put down or lost otherwise. Our fuzzy family is part of our lives and our hearts and it is never easy to see them go. Our condolences and wishes for happier times for you and your fuzzy friends.

Did any of those fuzzy, feathered family members end up on the rotisserie?

I thought maybe just a chicken or two. Lol
My pigs have names. Squealy Dan, pigEsmalls, Porky.

They end up on the grill. Or smoker. Lol

Very hard to let them go. We consider our house hospus house for dogs right now. Our Shitzu is 12 he is blind and deaf. And now has sun downers (gets confused and wanders around all hours of the night) as well a cushions disease. We love him and just do what we can. A gentleman local passed away recently and had this big yellow dog (chow & Lab ) the dog has a large cancerous tumor on his side. The family did not want him and was going to put him down. We took him in and he is a wonderful dog. The vet says he probably has a few good years left. So he will have a good home here with us for as long as he has.

Sorry for your loss. I know all too well it's not easy and sometimes I wake up at night thinking about past pets that have gone on before me. At first I wondered why but it didn't take long to know why......

I'm posting with the heaviest of hearts. We put our oldest girl down, today. Trinity/Trinny/Boo, has been with us for 10 years. In 2007 I drove 5 hours in a blizzard, to rescue her from a kill shelter. We have Siberians, and she was in the most pathetic place I saw on petfinder.com. We I got there, I immediately realized that the shelter had exaggerated her breed a bit. However, after having driven all that way to get her...I wasn't leaving her. Her previous owner had dumped her at the pound, at EIGHT years of age. She was immediately part of the pack, and became our Hillbilly Husky. Her personality was the greatest a person could want, though she had a huge prey-drive. Being as wonderful as she was, I had to know her lineage. We did a DNA test on her, and found out she was only 25% Husky. She's always been loyal, comforting, playful, and loved everyone. At 12 years of age, she blew-out both rear ACL's. We had 2 choices, and opted to have surgery done on her legs. She came thru like a champ! Six years later, I'm devastated that we finally have to say how much we love her, and I know we'll see all our rescued Huskies, again. I love you Boo, and God-Speed. We've been overly honored to have had her a whole normal dog's life, on top of the 8 years before we got her in our lives. 18 years for a large dog. Quite the run.

MMISSISLE I just lost my best friend TICK today . A couple of months ago I was reading your sad post I knew I would be writing this one soon. He too was a rescue dog 14 years ago he became my best friend immediately. I was told he sticks to you closer than a tick so that was his name. Living on a ranch he was always with me, always knew what to do. I never had to ask, Tick never had to want. I guess i am lucky 3 are still here But Tick will always be remembered
