What are they smoking at Barrett Jackson Palm Beach!!!!

And yet a beautiful 68 Hemi Charger RT struggled at 125k

Barrett Jackson??? So way over rated IMHFO. Delusional idiots all along with the fools whose money is easily parted from their wallets. Give me Mecum any day. At least a lot of the auctions with them have really something for everyone. But I do enjoy just seeing all the various offerings as they cross the block...cr8crshr/Tuck:usflag::usflag::usflag:

Now every buck toothed hillbilly will chase the chickens out of their rusted out Blazers & put a For Sale sign on it. Sign will say "For Sale $75,000" or trade for a Lambraguini of equal value

How about $291,500 for Lot 711 - 1961 VOLKSWAGEN 23-WINDOW DELUXE MICROBUS as per their website. I thought it went for $260,000 during the auction.
They show the out the door price, they've added the buyer premium (commission)..

291,500 includes the buyer premium....some woman bought it...was wetting herself with the purchase....too much money in her husbands pocket..

There will always be the one or two off novelty high bids in an auction for whatever reason. As for the rest, the values are just plain creeping up and will not stop anytime soon. In essence it just helps ensure that you won't lose as much money as in cars past. Be greatful, now the hobby won't bankrupt you. Yes more to get in, but risdual are up and going higher. I like it.

IMO all it takes is 2 people that want it, emotions etc.
people in the room with actually money to spend,
a captured audience, with alcohol :realcrazy: & money to spend...LOL
that actually have big $$$ to spend on some frivolous BS
& "more money than brains", in some cases

The ol' adage is "there's an *** for every seat",
whom ever bought that K5 for that kind of $$$
"was a really big ***"

It's the auctions job to get the most for every car,
they did "exactly what the seller wanted", for damn sure...
I certainly don't blame the BJ auction company or
Velocity {Discovery Network} for that ****...

I saw the same **** on a bunch of
100's of Camaros & Mustangs,
especially 40's, 50's - 70's restored P-U's
on Houston Mecum auction too...
{I'm not a hater of any certain brand-x either, it's just a rolling car show}
When what I liked went for far less...

I shake my head sometimes, but
I quit caring what other people do, with their own money,
a long time ago...
A fool & their money are soon parted....

Those 21- and 23-window VW buses are like gold these days. I would rather find one of those in a barn than a Hemi car since I can buy two Hemi cars with the money I'll get for the bus.
