Hey guys,

Anyone know when master cylinders were left natural vs. black? I've seen black on late 60's/70's cars.

What paint do you guys use for the cast iron look on the natural finished ones?

Thank you

I use high temp cast coat looks like bare metal

This came up in another post here. Hijacked document from another site, natural vs. black.

Thank you very much! Only thing I am still unclear about (I might have missed it in the article), is what color/coating the clamp and top bolt of the drum brake cylinder should be?

If it has the zinc plated cap, isn't the cap bolt and bail wire zinc as well? That's how Classic Ind. is selling them. But someone probably knows for sure.

I would assume so, but I'm just not sure.

i never seen a factory one painted. paint and dot 3 fluid (which was factory) aren't compatible.

I believe that is correct. Factory original cars should have a bare master cylinder to be absolutely correct.
