Hello having trouble with map light, dome light, ignition light, they all lit up while driving the car,and remain lit with the keys out of the ignition ?Its a new car for me so any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

all the answers to your questions are here, but you won't see them unless we see pics of your car :luvplace:

do you have the dimmer switch turned up so the lights are on all the time? Try turning the switch down. Welcome to FBBO too

I tried to post pics, but Im having trouble doing so.I suck with tech.stuff. sorry

Unplug the dimmer switch on the dash, see what happens ... yours is the thumbwheel switch, they get nasty inside

the reason I said the dimmer switch was turn up all the way for your interior lights on, it will turn your lights on with the key in the ignition or not. I would try what 65-440 said to do or your door jam switch is not making contact with the door to turn it off, try pushing on them to see if it makes a difference.

Thanks for your suggestions,I tried everything mentioned, with no luck .dome light, map light, and key light remain on.Had to disconnect battery,Im stumped

you might have a short in the wiring or your dimmer switch is causing the short causing the lights to remain on. Like 65-440 said try unplugging the dimmer switch from the wiring to see if that helps.

another thought is remove your two front door jam switches to see it the wires are touching at the back of the switches, the two terminals could be touching causing a short or the switch is bad.

Well not a short per say as those switches when extended (door open) are the ground and I believe are yellow. A bad, worn door switch can ground with the door closed and activate the lights. I'm leaning toward this.

Could there be a bad ground somewhere?
Maybe back eeding through those lights?
Like a trailer will do with a bad ground connection?

welcome from Mid-MI. Hope you figure out the wiring and pic posting.

Hello & good luck with the gremlin.
