Getting ready to have a vinyl top put on the bee and I'm curious how the quarter panel trim installs. I had new quarters put on the car so the original holes are long gone.

How do I ensure I get the 3 holes drilled correctly? How does the trim pop in the hole. Cant be just bare ornithologists would rust, is their an insert that the clip pops into? This is my first vinyl top car so I want to make sure it's done right. Thanks for the help!

Just spring clips that pop into the holes. Probably best to find another to measure.

So just drill a hole, run the vinyl down to the molding bottom and pop the clip in the hole? Seems like an easy way to get rust

As alot of these mouldings never really fit really nice from the factory, I installed my rear trim and drip rail mouldings and then placed the vinyl top mouldings where they fit nicely. Then I marked them out on top and bottom and proceeded to drill the three holes

are the spring clips still in your trim?

They have a good chance of being in the correct place

"bare ornithologists"?

Sorry for the late response, I checked today and I drilled 1/4 inch holes, the clips fit nice and snug
