Looking for a good restorable 4 speed console for a 66 Coronet. Also can anyone tell me the difference why the catalogs list a console for 67 and up? Wouldn't a 66 be the same as a 67 console?

You can use a 67 up console in a 66, and installed they look the same. Most 66 consoles are 2 piece. 67 up are one piece.
Does the 67 console have the bump out for where the shifter is located?
Not mine. Don't know if you can find it cheaper. As said earlier 66's are 2 piece.

Design is the same. The 66 console is much thicker and 2 piece.
So I'm looking at a lot of pictures, besides the console I would need the correct shift handle for console use that has the offset to come out at the center of the console. correct?
The top plates 66-68 are the same. The correct shifter for your application is the 66-68 Inland console shifter. There are other console shifters that will work for your application.

I think all years with 4 speeds need the bump out. automatics don't.
