Oil pressure gauge

I wanted to install a oil pressure gauge. I saw one that has a electric sending unit. Could I install a nipple and tee and still retain my dash oil light. Would grounding the sending unit wire make the light go out in instrument cluster.....thanks
 
Grounding the wire at the pressure switch turns the dash indicator on.
Yes you should be able to Tee in both devices it just might not look pretty.
 
It's been done before, sure - but there is another 1/4" NPT outlet on the back of the engine
right next to the factory outlet for that sender as well on big blocks. Has a plug in it.

Sure, I have a T in mine for the mechanical gauge & the stock gauge is still there and working just fine.
 
Even though this was on a slant 6 I teed the light and a mechanical gauge.But you will get the idea.

I tee'd mine before I realized that there was another port.

Both the idiot light and the oil pressure gauge (mechanical) work just fine.
