How can I tell a big block trans from a (318) small block trans. 64 Plymouth? Thanks.

Size of the Bellhousing for starters. I’m assuming you’re talking push button 727? If so, the big block ones will have a linkage pivot off to the side of the case. You can also drop the trans pan and run the numbers found on the pan rail

The dowel pins are in totally different locations on a SB than a BB.

and as you can see the top to bolt mounting holes are further apart on the small block trans case .
