Mopar Nats Columbus Oh

Truthfully, after 45+ years of this mopar stuff....I prefer all makes shows. I'm bored to tears, of all the same-old, same-old. Gotta have a dragstrip at a muscle-car show. Otherwise, we have plenty of parking-lot shows locally.

The nats is smaller than it used to be and we aren't the young men we used to be either. All those cars that were daily drivers 25-30 years ago that were going to the nats are either scrapped or parted out and the cars that are left are too pricey for the younger generation that has a wife, kids, grand children and all those bills. You have the experienced Mopar people still at it and doing what they do best with what they have to work with. If all else fails in finding a room, try the Grove City area which is 45 miles away and all freeway to the Stringtown exit. Plenty of hotels and plenty of resturants and night life. Stringtown exit on I71 just south of I270

How long before the 60-70s muscle car is dead? I had a guy just tell me when he started doing car shows in 1970 every thing was black. I looked at him and said what. He said all the old guys then had model T and model A’s now you don’t hardly ever see them cars. you are seeing less of the street rods lot of them guys are dying off as well. now most of the guys into 60 and 70 cars are in there 50s and up. So I say it will only get smaller at these car shows. KB9GIB

The audience is dying-off, daily,

Well...reading here about the nats being a small show now, ahh, I wouldn't consider 2000 or 3000 cars small. Sounds like the amount of cars when I went some 20 years ago. I bought some nice stuff from the venders then but reading here that part of the meet has decreased? On a lodging note, does the Bates Motel have any vacancies? Heard there's always available rooms there...ok bad humor. I'm enjoying a little beer-buzz after sweltering in the heat all day.

Went to Good Guys show last summer at the fairgrounds and was bored to tears. Street rods(other than mechanical) bores me to tears. I’ll still do the Nats just because I met all the younger and old guys we interact with on the forum! AND, crime is on the upswing in the area, just a warning. At “good guys” last year one buddy was at police station when we arrived, paperwork for trashed steering column on his Camaro. I think I’d rather drive an hour from the motel to get there. Not trying to rain on the parade, BUT! Be safe and think ahead.

I kinda like ‘all-makes’ also, but; the Chebbys& Ferds just over power everything. I know, numbers made, BUT!
