Hi, any help would be greatly appreciated. 1970 Coronet R/T with 440. I do not have enough throw in my cable to fully open carb. Edelbrock RPM manifold with Holley carb. There is nothing restricting gas pedal in interior. Probably need another 1/2"+ of throw.

^ Agreed. Looks like some sort of modified 2bbl bracket. The 4bbl ones are reproduced.

Thank you for quick reply. I tried a new bracket that you left link to. Did not come close to mounting with my manifold. If I was to disconnect cable from bracket, I am not able to pull/extend the wire part any more than pictured, Thanks again.

You might have to grind a little off for the Edelbrock manifold. The ports are a bit taller. Either way, the clamp and cable housing, moved rearward, will give you more travel.

Mancini might have what you meed...

Isn't there piece available that mounts on carb to make carb open faster. Meaning less travel.

Yes, you need the lever extension that Demonic refers to. It changes the relationship of the cable to the throttle shaft. Not sure if you need to change the cable bracket, maybe.

I used the Mancini MREAR 1055 . Worked for me.

He needs both the Holley extension and a different bracket
The extension moves the cable outward and aligns it straight with the cable holder. It will not fix his problem with the cable being to short. He needs the bracket for that

Ok, just a thought that likely could be off the mark; can you fully open the secondaries with cable disconnected? Reason I mention is on my manifold the 2nd plates were contacting the mani ports and a spacer took care of that...but my mani was stock I was contending with.

On my 63 with the Lokar cable I use I also was not all the way at WOT. I had to bend the acell pedal arm up some that's in the car for more pedal travel and that fixed it just fine. Good luck with yours , Ron

The bracket and cable only matter if you pull over center. This would be the carb pivot going below the centerline of the carb pivot to cable attachment bracket at wide open throttle. The pedal cable attachment travel is X. If the carb attachment travel is greater than X, the carb wont open fully. The pivot on a Holley carb is further from the throttle shaft than the stock carb. Therefore the travel is greater than X. The pivot needs to be moved closer to the throttle shaft. Either a new hole in the carb or adapter bracket. To rectify the cable pull going over center. Modify the stock throttle bracket. Cut it in half. Weld an extension moving it up and forward.

Thank you for your responses. Will not be able to get to my car until Monday. Still waiting for Holley part to arrive. Will try your suggestions.

Thanks again.

That is exactly why I started making taller than stock throttle brackets. http://arengineering.com/
