My tank is shot in my 69 cuda and some one soldered locking ring to sending unit,I know this is not a b body, apology for that but was wondering if year one's tank and sending unit combos are any good just $110 ,anybody know?

I bought a replacement tank from Yearone before I changed directions and went intank EFI. The tank seems to be a quality unit, I cant vouch for the sending unit though. The tank will probably be the least of your worries, the sending unit however is another matter. Seems to be a crap shoot with todays aftermarket replacements.

all repro sending units are a gamble at best. essentially junk. check it before installing and you might be able to tweek it

The Spectra Premium tanks are pretty decent.
I have a sending unit from Vans Auto that was cheap and it seems to work OK.
Not totally accurate but fairly close.
If you are even considering going to EFI in the future, you might want to see if you can get a 3/8" sender.

pic of the cuda would be nice.

 love the color on the Cuda

I'd start by unsoldering the locking ring. That's assuming the sender works ok. To clean solder off after separating sender and lock ring, heat (propane torch) and wipe with a rag. Most solder melts at 500 degrees. If the whole mess, tank, sender and ring are all soldered together PITA. You fill tank full of water and hacksaw the unit out, no electric tools.

I bought my Tank from year one
So far no problems
I got the thing in a kit
Which included all of the rubber for the fill tube and vent tube
I did not get a sender from them

I went a different rout and got one I wont recommend
It reads fine when full and when empty, everything else is a crap shoot
I would go back to my original OEM sender if I could ever find it lol
