I don’t like drinking Jack. They have a great advertising and product placement campaign, but I find it too rough to drink. Nice to cook with, though.
Correct JD is not Bourbon. Can't afford the good bourbon so it's Evan Williams or Ezra Brooks. Used to like 1843 years ago.
BTW Jack Daniel's (yes, there is an apostrophe) IS NOT bourbon. Its whiskey.
All bourbon is whiskey but not all whiskey is bourbon.
There's a reason they cover it up with Coke. LOL I was a Black Velvet drinker for years until the CVMM club. (whiskey tasting) Everything I drink now I drink neat. If it's harsh I don't buy it. During tasting, I add a few drips of water to tone it down. It brings out a lot of flavors that are covered up by the alcohol.I don’t like drinking Jack. My grandfather ran Makers Mark during prohibition. My dad used to tell stories about the Samuels family as he grew up in Raywick Kentucky which neighbors Loretta.
I've noticed no one has mentioned Four Roses, which is generally meant for export. I like Four Roses; it's like a smooth Jim Beam.
That area has changed so much. Main Street Lebanon was busy and long time businesses thrived. My father knew them all by first names and their children's names.Raywick, KY!
I have a friend who used to live in Bardstown and we would visit there. There was a bar in the middle of town we went to and he knew the owner well. It closed last we were there, its been a few years.

That bar you mentioned in Raywick is where we stopped when I was a kid to get beer bottles for target practice. I loved shooting the old Winchester 22 bolt action with my dad. I certainly miss those days.
