Who here is a bourbon drinker? Show your stash!

Better keep stocked
I see on the news small distillers changing over to making hand sanitizer to help the cause

Can't afford the good bourbon so it's Evan Williams or Ezra Brooks. Used to like 1843 years ago.

BTW Jack Daniel's (yes, there is an apostrophe) IS NOT bourbon. Its whiskey.
All bourbon is whiskey but not all whiskey is bourbon.
Correct JD is not Bourbon.

Nope not a Bourbon drinker. Actually cannot stand the stuff. It stems from a over serving back in my youth that made me violently sick for 3 days. Family and parents were Bourbon drinkers. Killed my 2nd Brother it did but it was his own doing sadly. Now a Good Scotch Whiskey and I am in 7th heaven. But I haven't had any in quite some time. I do use some Bourbon for cooking like some BBq recipes and glazes which after the alcohol is cooked off gives a nice flavoring. Mostly I drink Vodka now. It is great for those suffering from Gout of which I am prone but no attacks in 13 years. It also is a good disinfectant for cuts and such but won't kill the Virus now in play. Can also be used to clean up spills and stains in cloths and carpets. Yes a waste but just don't spill and then that leaves more for the glass...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

I stocked up as everyone was panicking for toilet paper. I don't drink it to get drunk. I sip it neat as I enjoy the taste and different flavors different brands have.

This should take the edge off.

I’ve been drinking woodford reserve for a while knob creek single barrel aged too. But been finding deals on bullitt, wild turkey 101, and Evan Williams.

I don’t like drinking Jack. They have a great advertising and product placement campaign, but I find it too rough to drink. Nice to cook with, though.
There's a reason they cover it up with Coke. LOL I was a Black Velvet drinker for years until the CVMM club. (whiskey tasting) Everything I drink now I drink neat. If it's harsh I don't buy it. During tasting, I add a few drips of water to tone it down. It brings out a lot of flavors that are covered up by the alcohol.

My grandfather ran Makers Mark during prohibition. My dad used to tell stories about the Samuels family as he grew up in Raywick Kentucky which neighbors Loretta.
I've noticed no one has mentioned Four Roses, which is generally meant for export. I like Four Roses; it's like a smooth Jim Beam.

I completely agree. I just add water so that it’s not like drinking gasoline. Some has almost a sweet taste that I don’t like. I find a lot of scotch is like that.
But Jack is great for cooking. That roughness that doesn’t go well with water goes great with barbecue sauce.

There is a bottle of Four Roses in my picture Bill. Small Batch, another good one. I have my good friend beck in KY on the hunt for some of the hard to find stuff.

I homebrew. I just bottled 5 gallons of Witbier (wheat) for summer sipping. I ordered LME (liquid malt extract) for 5 gallons of Orange Shandy that I take to car shows to share. Here's a short vid of some of my American Ale.

Raywick, KY!
I have a friend who used to live in Bardstown and we would visit there. There was a bar in the middle of town we went to and he knew the owner well. It closed last we were there, its been a few years.

That area has changed so much. Main Street Lebanon was busy and long time businesses thrived. My father knew them all by first names and their children's names.
That bar you mentioned in Raywick is where we stopped when I was a kid to get beer bottles for target practice. I loved shooting the old Winchester 22 bolt action with my dad. I certainly miss those days.

The 5th Wheel Lounge.

A couple more I picked up. The Elmer is fantastic, the McKenna is also very good.

And found a bottle of Weller 12 and Stagg Jr. The Weller is my favorite. Never tried the Stagg but it gets great reviews. 128 proof!!
