torsion bars

I have a '73 Charger SE with the P code 400. According to the chart it should have .96" torsion bars. The car has front and rear anti-sway bars.
It has a good ride. Stiff, but not like a truck. Corners well, not much body roll. I don't feel any need to change the spring rates on that car.
If you change the front spring rate you will probably need to change the leaf springs to match.

I already changed rear springs to mopar xhd springs

I said above it was factory small block bars and it sits a tad above factory ride heigh.
Most cars with no options didn't have the same size bars than cars that were fully optioned and you didn't mention if the car has AC, PS etc. Also, there's always the possibility that someone could have changed them out for whatever reason. If the car was shipped to a rust belt state then the chances for rusted bars that may have been replaced is higher for example. Unless you get under your car and actually measure the bars that are in there, you are only assuming what's in it. Geez man, the car is 47 years old so unless you've had it since new or know the FULL history.............good luck with it.

I pulled bars once. They are original. This car has always been Texas car, no rust at all, has ac power steering. It's a 1973 dodge charger 2door hard top. Deluxe bench seat interior, column shift 318/904/8.25 car. It's a very low end optioned car. It would have been almost a base model

I have had this car very long time. I'm the 3rd owner. I have been all Over this car from top to bottom. New stringers Leah's, I swapped in 3:55 gears, rmvd built transmission, 2800 stall, 318 built hutnwore out, rebuilt all front end and rear end bushing with poly including k member. Only thing I haven't done underneath is torsion bars, gear box and tie rod ends. Everything else been replaced or upgraded.

Why not Firm Feel? Just wondering
