I'm removing trim in preparation to paint the car. I'm doing pretty well, but can't seem to get the section off that is over the door. Does anyone have any tips on how to remove this piece?

I had the same problem with mine, drivers side came off easy enough and it took hours to get the other side off. Those clips are a bitch. I wish i could be more helpful but i'm not sure what i did to get it off, just messed with it until it did.

Usually two clips per side. You have one clip showing in picture. Try a small piece of wood (maybe from yardstick) about the size of the clip. Put wood piece under moulding and drive clip out of other side of moulding. Take your time and do it very slowly. Moulding should just lift off with clips removed. Hopefully, clips are not broken, very rare and almost impossible to find. Joe Schuchy has replacement clips, but aren't like originals. They are screwed into roof.

I used wood and plastic shims on the bottom, working it slowly until I was able to swing the entire piece out and up.
