Oh no.....dropped/missing a bolt!

when I was building boats/engines the other tech was assembling a fomula 1 omc V8 outboard bolted to a car engine stand. I told him don't do it like that stand it on the bench,he said he'd been doing a lot longer than me!
When the boat was ready for a lake test the shop owner and myself took the boat for it's maiden ride 26 stoker tunnel. we just cleared the harbour and i was at the transom listening to the engines and I told him to shut the starboard off something doesn't sound right!
took the boat back to the shop and pulled the heads on the motor the next day,low and behold there was a needle from the rod bearing in there, messed up the bore, piston, head but second effort in florida exchanged the block no charge. needless to say build them standing up when your dealing with a 100 needle bearings at least they fall on the bench where you can see them!
didn't matter in the long run 2 kids stole the boat a couple weeks later from the guys cottage ran it up on shore across the lake at 80 mph!

Some people just aren't right.... Hard to even conceive of someone doing something like that....

I could understand fighting a rival or boffing their girlfriend or whatever. But destroying another man's car? That's irredeemable...

Damnnnn! Get yourself one of these magnetic trays! Harbor Freight gives them away when you spend a certain amount.

Not anymore. Have y'all noticed that those small shop items they gave away if you made a purchase, they're now charging for. With a coupon they're only $.79, but they used to be free.

Here's a "missing bolt". Unless it was sabotage.

The engine teardown starts @ 8:00

Skip to the 15:30 for the carnage.

Continue watching for more damage.

Great Episode ! Big surprise on top of that piston!
Love watching Nick! I Enjoy all of his videos!

Most of their specials and give aways come around once a month. You have to subscribe and also get on their mailing list for their sales papers. Or just go on line to see their specials.

Every time I happen to buy something there I take my phone with the site pulled up and have them scan the coupons for a decent discount. I'm not too fond of the cheapness of a lot of their items but I have found a couple of things that have come in handy.
