I would appreciate any info on decoding this trans. I have a 833 23 spline transmission. 99129 Case Date 2895 CC 02537 0209 308 bearings, 99621 tail housing B Body front mount(only) 2:47 Ratio..Thanks

Anything stamped in the raised pad on the right side?

I can tell you that if it is a 308 bearing, and the input shaft will come out thru the front, instead of from the inside, it should be a 18 spline case. A 23 spline should be 307 bearings. There could be exceptions to the rule though...

This is a HD 23 spline, 8-1-69 for a 70 car, Challenger TA?

Dipstick, here is how it is stamped CC 102537(may be OG/OC?) stamping is light on the right side, Below it and to the left PP833 2895 then 0209. Maybe the stamps weren't level when stamped. thanks for your help

It came as a 23 spline with 308 bearings, for a 383?

it was built on July1 1969 ( 2895 ) early 1970 production carwhich your VIN code above tells you

Thanks for de-coding the date it was built. I thought it was Aug 1st 69. If possible, I would like to know what it came out of using the other #'s?

The vin code starting in 0 (1970) then a letter C or G tell you the plant, then vin sequence. The folks who track vin code can sometimes tell what cars were built on a plants numeric plan. A 308 bearing will mean it was a bigblock. All smallblocks came with the 307 bearing. (in 1970 )

Chignikred, thanks for all your help. Being a early 70 308 case with a B body only tail should narrow down what it was in. Most 833's starting in 70 had a B & E, duel mount tail?

Yes on the tail housing BUT the very early B body housings had a dual crossmember mount pad, and usually only one position was finish machined off.
E body , for sure would have rear Shifter mount pad.

This tail(99621) has 2 machined cross member pads. Only the front pad is drilled for a mount/cross member set up. NO E-body shifter mounting pad, just B-Body
Thanks again
