Need help selecting new 727 trans

Extension housing for factory floor shift automatic needs the tab on bottom side that the two studs on this bracket bolt too, it should be near the speedo gear hole.

Thank you - I have that bracket, I'll inspect the tranny tonight to see if it has the tab - the thread post above mentioned "tabs" plural - is there another tab that is required as well?

The two hole tab(s) is all you need to be sure your extension housing has for the factory floorshift.

Just figured I'd post a quick update.

I ended up driving it down to Haas Transmission for a rebuild, had to drive down that way to pick up another car anyways. I emailed/called 4 different (re)manufacturers asking if they're units had the mounting points for the factory shifter and none could guarantee that I'd get one with them, maybe they're just trying to sell their shifters idk. That combined with the fact that swapping the tailhousing does indeed void any guarantees on the trans, convinced me that rebuild was the way to go. I appreciate all the suggestions and help with this, hopefully the Charger will be back on the road soon!

Glad you found a rebuilder you are comfortable with. Hope you explained your performance level & expectations to them. There are a lot of internal part combinations for different levels of power/torque and clutch & band materials. I find it amazing that any major supplier won't guarantee to sell you a 727 with the tail housing that you require. They must have many cores to use. Just maybe not all the ones on the shelf.
