I'm new to Mopar and learning news things every day, but this ones a mystery. Does anyone know of a reason why a Tach hole would not drilled at the factory for a 1968 Coronet? The guy on the line just forgot to drill it or it was late on a Friday afternoon before a 3 day weekend? The car was ordered and delivered with a tach but the wire was run above module. Tach Wire has the factory grommet on it. See photos. The car is completely original and has never had any work done to it.

Thank you.

Something don't look right there. I didn't have a factory tach in my car; but it's a small wire running off the coil and found several spots in the firewall to simply route it through. That location through the top of the BH (?) looks really odd, don't know the OEM setup for your car...but that sure seems off.

If that wire isn't crushed to smithereens btw the BH and wall having a working tach yet, you've been fortunate...

Can't believe that wire hasn't shorted to ground in 52 years time. You can be sure that I never owned that car, as my luck isn't that good.

Here’s where it goes on a 69’ so probably the same for 68’

Along these lines - does anyone know where to get just the grommet for a tach wire ?
