Charitable donation.

Charities are often tax deductions. True charity is given from the heart. Not on count of guilt, back patting or everyone else does it.

Why would a person need to be reimbursed by the Government for doing a good deed? If you need to be reimbursed then it wasn't really a benevolent gesture, you did it because it didn't cost you anything.
Have you never made a donation and used that donation as a tax deduction ?
No difference .
It's a good way to funnel the governments money to those who can use it and need it.
Plus you may just make some.kids Christmas.

Ive never made a donation as a tax deduction.Never picked up the form from my chruch at the end of the year either.

Plan on Ceramic coating for the Cat with the stimulus. Thus supporting local small business who pay taxes and make this Country great.
For a second there I thought you meant ceramic coating for the pussy.

WTG supporting local business...wherever you may be.

What happened to the days when someone could donate to the needy and not be lambasted for it?

(I hope you're keeping up with the new words @Kern Dog ) :D
I'm familiar with the word. :bananadance:
I've donated to charities, given money, food and aluminum cans to homeless people, given car parts to broke car guys and never claimed any of it on any tax return. I don't need to be financially reimbursed for any good will that I might do. I like to see the gratitude in the eyes of the recipient and a genuine Thank You.
That is enough for me.

I don’t know who to trust when donating. Bunch of Lexus and Benz lined up at the local food bank.
Poor these parts SOMETIMES defined as doing without an I-12 or 5G.
You know those are the chances you take. My wife worked for a doctors office quite a few years ago. There was a family that looked like they were struggling and were showing all the signs of it. Well. The doctors office bought the kids lots of goodies. The mom alot of nice things. Gave them a whack of cash. I mean lots. Delivered it on Christmas eve. All to find out the dad was a big drug dealer. To late to turn back at that point.

Gave a cool $100 to a family at Christmas time who had a house fire. Told days later that was the SECOND house they had burned down.

The point to the tax deduction is a person can give $ to the charity of their choice instead of that charity having to depend on or wait for government support.
Each year I pay taxs into the IRS so if i can reduce my tax bill and at the same time know my $ goes straight to the charity of my choice instead of the IRS to be lost forever in the feds pork filled system. I think that's a good thing.
Dont get me wrong , I do not give or donate all that much but do help were I can.

Thank you, I do understand that.
My point was that when people ONLY give because they get reimbursed for it, the whole issue of selfless generosity is in question.

On more response to this reimbursement deal. I am pretty confident that stimulus checks will be coming and I could have just kept the money but, I don't need it so I wanted to pass it on to those who do. Not looking for any kudos, just relaying what made me feel good. Merry Christmas!

My family and I did a match fundraiser for our local homeless shelter. It’s cold in Wisconsin. We did this in memory of bother and sister who recently passed away. We raised $5800. 100% of the $ went to the shelter. Be careful who you donate to. Sometimes only a small percentage on it goes to the The charity itself The rest goes towards administration. Merry Christmas

I call BS on the claim that donating to charity is liberal or implying it is non republican. Many republicans to donate, and many democrats donate too.

I am a Republican and I use every donation for a deduction on my taxes. F U Uncle Sam
