What's up with the hood scoop on the 68 Roadrunner ? Don't look right at all.

It's a Hemi hood scoop. Street Road Runners didn't have that scoop, so that's probably why it looks different.

you just never know who will show up here....hey Dutch!

Regarding the 67 S&M cars.

RO23 - Buddy bought it in May of 1967 from longtime sponsor Gate City Motor Company in Greensboro, North Carolina. Ronnie was quite successful in this car, driving it to victory at the 1967 Bristol Springnationals. This was the only factory RO ’67 Hemi car the team had that year; they continued to run it into 1968 in SS/D. It us identifiable by the BLOCK script THE BOSS on the front qtr.

Belvedere ‘GTX’ #2 - ...this one modified to look like a GTX - This is identifiable by the GTX hood...but Belvedere upper body trim. It is identifiable by CURSIV ‘running writing’ script on the front guard spelling ‘the Boss’ - This car ran a 440 in SS/E in 67.

Belvedere ‘GTX’ #2 - TO MAKE MATTERS MORE COMPLICATED - S&M had a third Belvedere
The car Ronnie won the 68 Springnationals at Englishtown was a converted Belvedere to SS/D specifications...after their new Hurst-type Hemi Cuda had problems. Identified by BLOCK ‘THE BOSS’ but with GTX hood.

THE BOSS - 67 RO23 (pictured)

The Boss - SS/E 440 - Belvedere - GTX Hood Raced in SS/E in 67

THE BOSS - Belvedere II - GTX hood - Raced in SS/D in 68

Kind of funny to be reading this now about Sox and Martin cars. I was sitting here in my chair last night and heard a choppy cam....looked to my wife and asked her what she was watching on her phone? She replied old drag racing videos of Ronnie Sox? I said...Oh...Mr 4spd!! I knew there was a reason I love her so much...lol

68's never had scoops just the louvered fresh air. It could be raced in the Modified Production class with an added scoop but not in Super Stock. Pics in post #23 show the 68 in B/MP.

MP, a forgotten class.I remember when it was quite popular.
