I do not think 68 or older cars had them. Mega parts has the harnesses.

My 68 road runner came with it,, I just bought a 67 dart that didn't, it was originally a 274 4 speed
As I think about this I believe the light did come in later in 68. What shifter did you have? Memory says inland did not have the light but the Hurst did. You can still make it work in the dart.
No problem Jamie at Mega Parts has always been good to me.

dad had a early build 68 gtx that had one was it an option?

My understanding is that only cars with the AO1 light group option had it. I've had 4-spd cars without it.

Not to hijack the thread but to add to the the discussion based on what I have seen.
No 1967 car would have the reverse indicator light (Inland shifter).
All 1969 4-speed cars would have the reverse indicator light (Hurst shifter).
1968 cars with an Inland shifter would not have the light as they have a reverse lockout handle.
1968 cars with a Hurst shifter would have the light as they have no reverse lockout on the handle.
The changeover had to be somewhere after SPD March 12, 1968 (at least for a LA built car).
But then again, never say never.
