440 hp heat riser question

I just purchased a new 440 HP exhaust manifold from year one. It has the riser valve installed in it with the spring. I have my heat crossovers blocked. Does it hurt anything to leave the flapper active or should I wire it open?

Wire open if intake blocked or remove

Wire it open or remove it. With no place for the exhaust gases to go you could burn the exhaust valves
