I resolved my issue years ago, 2015 to be exact lol.
Since I read through the whole thread, but I don't remember the solution, what post # did you post the epiphany in, or just tell us what was the problem and solution?
 
I know it’s an old thread but I appreciate it ! It’s given me hope on my 72 charger ,Sb,904,4;11&81/4 . I just went thru the entire thread and found it worth it.

There was an issue with the driveshaft but the pinion angle was THE problem all along. When I originally shimmed the pinion up 1.5 degrees with no affect whatsoever I turned my attention elsewhere, once I exhausted every other possibility I revisited the pinion and went another 1.5 degrees... Instantly fixed!

THANKS! I will ask the shop owner who did a ton of work on my Roadrunner last year about the pinion angles since he did stuff related to that, and if he hasn't boxed my spring perches I need that done too...
OR
anyone who knows how much I've had done to bulletproof my frame/suspension, should I replace the spring perches with these?

Very interesting in all honesty! I always marked every drive shaft I removed front to back on big trucks including the yokes... I never had a problem until my 72 was gone thru and I even sent the drive shaft out for balance and it was no better... then I spotted how they balance for 500 rpm and the angles are an issue even though I put it all back together stock I went to 4:11s and it will shake the fillings out of your skull... so the hunt is on! Send shaft to a better shop and check angles..
