That was mom's original FL plate. She lived in Gainesville and bought her car in Jacksonville. Photo was taken right after she and dad moved to VA. She now lives just outside Jacksonville, in St Augustine.

I really like the vintage picture. Didn’t know VA got weather like that and had such beautiful brick architecture.

Yeah, NoVa gets good snows most winters. Some, it's just wet booger slush...but some, we get buried. '76, we had three feet fall overnight. Dad had moved us to a new, built-to-his-specs center-entrance colonial on a half acre by then. Brick, slate shingle roof, beautiful home. Was an honor to grow up there. Mom and dad sold it in '93 and the people who bought it, still live there.
The homes in the photo were then-new townhomes that they moved into right after getting married. The Navy transferred dad to DC, so they bought a place in the suburbs (McLean, a mile outside the Beltway). There's a TON of nice brick places in VA - think "revolutionary war". Colonial architecture is huge, and many of the homes date to the birth of our nation. The newer homes absolutely emulate that look.
For the license plate comment earlier - if I could, I would. But, Maryland allows a "YOM" tag (Year Of Manufacture) on cars over 30 years old. Back in the day, though, they had a specific LL-NNNN sequence for cars, and NNNN-LL sequence for trucks. Those are the only ones that can be used, and they have to be correct for the class of vehicle they're being put on. No "personalized" plates back then. It's cool though. My car is close to mom's...but not exact. Both were bought in Florida - hers in Jax, mine in Tampa. Mine lived its whole life in FL until 2020 when I brought it to MD. Both are triple green with vinyl tops and dark green interior. Both are 318/auto with factory a/c Charger 500s. Same full wheelcovers, which tells me both are non-assisted drum brakes (discs don't fit inside the 14s from what I've been able to find). Both have the light package (she got a kick out of the hood signals - she loves them!). Hers was F8 Dark Green; my original color is F4 Light Green (with one cheesy single-stage repaint at some point, for some unknown reason, that's about a half-shade off). Hers was a factory vinyl top; mine was added after purchase at some point back in the day, maybe at delivery since the original bill of sale has a handwritten note "a/c, a/t, p/s, v/t" on it. I confirmed it wasn't factory at Carlisle by noting the incorrectly-made trim once I got to compare it to factory vinyl cars, in addition to badges in the wrong place, and a fender tag and build sheet that call out FF4 roof - painted, not vinyl. Hers had an am/fm/8 track; mine has AM only. Mine has chrome racing mirrors; hers had the driver-only pancake mirror. Hers had a dealer-installed "tow package", so she could pull her small boat trailer (Starcraft 2-man sailboat, if I remember correctly). Close (pretty damn close, considering how much time has passed and how rare these cars are!)...but still not exact. So, a different plate doesn't hurt me. I'm just glad I found one SO close - and she was tickled and giggling the whole time we did the Carlisle thing last weekend. Except the mufflers - she (like me) hates the flowmasters. Too damned loud. It's on the list to quiet it down, lol
