Is there a way to test the breather valve on an 8 in 3/4 axle?

If you can blow through it, it's good. It's not a valve exactly but mainly a vent tube.

If the breather gets plugged, it can create pressure which can force oil out the axle seals. I've seen some that get plugged due to oil vapor and dust collecting in them. It can easily be cleaned if necessary.
