Identifying a carburetor

I'm having a hard time finding the proper brackets for my carburetor, for example, I can't find an aftermarket kickdown bracket that will fit the carb, I have a 1973 Dodge charger with a 318 and a 727 tranny

Obviously, the carb is 1-1/4" Carter BBD. why not use the brackets from the year - model of car that came with the combination....although the trans MAY HAVE BEEN A TF LA904 father than the A727A which came with earlier 318 engine cars......but what you need should be available/adaptable......btw....IMO....the GM HEI DISTRIBUTOR sure looks out of place and definitely ugly looking........

Why is it obviously a Carter when it has HOLLEY cast right on the front.

It resembles a Carter 1-1/4" BBD.....I've seen MANY Carter carbs vs Holley 2 bbl carbs as you show......do you have the FSM for your car engine transmission combination. The FSM will show the arrangement. Perhaps your car was originally titled in California and used Holley for emissions.....sorry to have misspoke......

I believe it came from Indiana, and the motor and tranny were ripped out of a Cordoba, not sure what year, I'm in able to find the correct original linkage, I have a new cable but unsure how to bracket it since idk what carb I have, and idk what the fsm is, I know what it means but do not know what it is

You need to get a copy of the Factory service manual for the engine trans combo..for your car...a wealth of information in both pix and adjustments. Without the FSM and trying to restore an old car is like driving with a bag over you head........It's free on line.......

The carburetor pictured is a Holley model 2280 two barrel. The Holley 2280 was first used on the 318 in 1978 in passenger cars and in 1980 in trucks. The pictured carburetor was originally used in an Electronic Lean Burn (ELB) application due to the presence of the Throttle Position Transducer (orange cylinder with two connections) and the wiring with blue connector for the ground switch/idle stop.

The sticker on the upper cover with the bar code is the Chrysler part number. The Holley list number can be found on the front left of the lower body:

The Holley list number will look similar to "R-8448".

If you provide the Chrysler number (which is not quite readable in the picture), and/or the Holley list number, I can tell you more specifically the original application for the carburetor.

Because the bar code is still present, the carburetor has likely not gone through a mass rebuilder process.
