Back in the day in Sweden, before McDonalds, Burger King, etc., there were hot dog vendors all over the place in small little carts. A very popular dish was hot dogs and mashed potatoes. You could get the hot dogs boiled or fried, and then they were stuck right on top of the mashed potatoes. Sibylla brand was the best hot dog to get.
...and yes, this was often topped with ketchup (and mustard)!

My mother made it with bratwurst when I was young. When I was young ketchup was just one of the toppings we used. It took my parents awhile to get used to ice cubes. Different places, different traditions. Thanks for sharing!!

Yes - have two friends from Sweden - have seen that. Even after ~25 years here and the somewhat 'Americanisation' of their 'tastes'/menu , they still put ketchup on their mashed taters...

I had several friend that had planes and flew quite a bit. I don't know about all the rules up in Canada, but they have so many take off and landing in so many days, I believe it was 90. I don't care how good of a mechanic people think they are, they don't allow a mechanic at your local car dealer to service a plane. Records on top of records. There are strict regulations set by aviation authorities on what paint to use. The guy across the street from me was an IT guy for boeing and a certified aircraft mechanic. Epoxy paint was his go to paint and I watched him do his mustang with it. After a few years of using it, it killed him. Following the rules was not his forte.
