Couldn't find an answer to my specific question with a search, so here goes.
Just attempting the install of the group 27 battery cover I bought to make the new battery appear somewhat (somewhat relative term, lol) original. Cover fits on the battery fine and looks better than a new battery, however, I find that the cover is a bit wide preventing the hold down clamp from fitting properly. My hold down is a NOS OEM so I am reluctant to modify it. A bit of tweaking got it to fit somewhat better, but not the best. Anyone else run into this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. I trimmed the cover under the hold down bracket corner piece. The corner piece holds down but you can’t see the trimmed plastic underneath. Mine also bowed when tightened so I put shims underneath to straighten it up.

Yep ... had to mill a bit of the plasti-dip off the insides of the top plate on the Swinger.

It appears to be a common problem. Must be the Chineseium crap strikes again.
Has nothing to do with where they are made, the hold down clamp plate is made to the width of a standard battery. What do we expect when you add a top cover that is 3/16ths wider??

Yeah, I guess you’re right, but they could have at least accommodated for that 3/16ths some way or another.

Seriously, maybe make it smaller and expect you to mill the battery itself...

Do you guys have pictures of the YearOne battery cover installed?
